Limited Edition (LE) Pets = their species is rare and limited
The main difference between limited edition and restricted pets lies in the fact that restricted pets CAN NOT be chosen upon completion of the Temple of Transmogrification whereas a limited edition pet can be chosen.

Arinya / Penitentiary Mission (Limited Edition) - the Arinya is Mara's 51st pet species that can only be obtained by completing the Penitentiary Mission in Vortex Park. The pet and mission were released February 11, 2009.
Astro / Beast in the Woods Mission (Limited Edition) - the Astro is Mara's 74th pet species obtained by completing The Beast in the Woods Mission, Mara's 20th misson. The Mission and pet was released on July 19, 2015.
Basil / Sewers Mission (Limited Edition) - the Basil is Mara's 58th pet species. It can be obtained from the Sewer Cleaner Mission in the City Sewers. The pet and mission were released November 3, 2009. In order to gain access to the City Sewers and the mission you will have to collect all 16 pieces of the Sewer Pipes Treasure Map and complete it.
Crikey / Hospice Mission (Limited Edition) - the Crikey is Mara's 57th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Hospice Mission on Minipet Island. The pet and mission were released June 13, 2009.
Eyru / Priscilla Mission (Limited Edition) - the Eyru is Mara's 76th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Priscilla Mission in Lowlyhood. The pet and new mission were released August 23, 2016.
Gizmo / Puchalla Mission (Limited Edition) - the Gizmo is Mara's 55th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Bumpkin Mission in Puchalla Village. The pet and mission was released on May 21, 2009.
Huthiq / Ublish Mission (Limited Edition) - released on September 24, 2005 when the new world of Planet Enpiah was discovered. The Huthiq is Maras 25th species of pet and is the Ublish Mission completion prize.
Ike / Hector the Collector Mission (Limited Edition) - the Ike is Mara's 56th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Hector the Collector Mission in the Lost City of Simeria. The pet and mission were released May 23, 2009.
Kronk / Clam Mission (Limited Edition) - The Kronk is Mara's 34th pet species released on July 7, 2006 with the introduction of The Clam Mission in Jenoa. Upon completion of the Mission you will received a limited edition Kronk.
Lorius / Greedy Gertrude Mission (Restricted) - the Lorius is Mara's 68th pet species. You can only obtain a Lorius by completing the Greedy Gertrude Mission o Nimbus. The Mission and pet were released September 20, 2013.
Oglue / Troll Mission (Limited Edition) - the Oglue is Mara's 32nd pet species, released on May 20, 2006 and obtained from completion of the Troll Mission from Baspinar's Castle.
Phanty / Trunx Mission (Limited Edition) - the Phanty is Mara's 35th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Theatre Mission upstains in Baspinar's Castle. The Mission and the Phanty pet were released on November 6, 2006.
Poera / Tarquin Mission (Limited Edition) - the Poera was released January 29, 2006 with the introduction of Tarquin's Library Mission. The Poera is Mara's 29th pet species.
Pucu / Pirate Mafia Mission (Limited Edition) - the Pucu is Mara's 53rd pet species and is obtained by completing the Pirate Mafia Mission in Dukka Caves. The pet and mission were released June 12, 2009.
Rusty / Rubbish Dump Mission (Limited Edition) - the Rusty is Mara's 47th pet species released on February 11, 2008. You can get a Rusty by completing the Rubbish Dump Mission in Gigantic Paradise.
Troit / Fugunzel Tower Mission (Limited Edition) - the Troit is Mara's 48th pet species which can be obtained by completing the Fugunzel's Tower Mission in Eleka's Castle. It was released on March 8, 2008 and in order to have access to the mission you will need to collect all 16 pieces of the Fugunzel Treasure Map and complete it.
Viotto / Blitzen Mission (Limited Edition) - The Viotto was released on December 10, 2005 with the introduction of Blitzen's Grotto Mission located on Biala Mountain. The Viotto is Mara's 27th pet species.
Yuni / The Fates Mission (Limited Edition) - - the Yuni is Mara's 41st pet species and can be obtained by completing The Fates Mission in Eleka's Castle. The Mission was released June 5, 2007.
Zoink / Trotter Mission (Limited Edition) - the Zoink is Mara's 42nd pet species and can be obtained from completing the Trotter Mission in the Undying Woods. The pet and Mission was released on July 9, 2007.
Zoosh / Circus Mission (Limited Edition) - the Zoosh is Mara's 49th pet species and can be obtained by completing the Circus Mission in Slater Park. The pet and mission were released on June 13, 2008.

Hump / Kamilah Pyramid (Restricted) - Mara's 60th pet species can only be obtained by completing the Kamilah Pyramid. Before you can enter the Pyramid you have to collect all 16 pieces of the Kamilah Treasure Map and complete it. The Kamilah Pyramid and the Hump pet were released September 2, 2010.
Echlin / Slate Pyramid (Restricted) - the Echlin is Mara's 64th pet species and can only be obtained by finishing all 50 levels of the Slate Pyramid in the Kamilah Desert. Access to the Pyramid comes from completion of the Kamilah Treasure Map. The pet and Slate Pyramid were released March 20, 2011.
Chibs (Limited Edition)
Dakota (Limited Edition) - the Dakota is Mara's 45th pet species. It was released on November 9, 2007 as part of the Ice Fairy Gold Account Upgrade.
Decadal (Restricted) - released July 27, 2014 in a Daylight Gold Account Upgrade and a Moonlight Gold Account Upgrade and now the 72nd species of Marapet.. the Decadal!! "The Decadal is a restricted pet and will be part of our special 10th Birthday Account Upgrades set. As the name suggests, the Decadal is only released every decade"...So according to the news on March 30, 2015 "The Decadal will retire from Account Upgrades permanently April 5th (2015). There will be no more Decadals created anywhere, in any AU or event, until Marapets reaches its second decade - August 2024!"
Ercuw (Limited Edition) - The Ercuw is Mara's 30th pet species and was released in a Gold Account Upgrade on March 20, 2006.
Gobble (Restricted) - the Gobble is Mara's 62nd pet species. It was released in a special Thanksgiving AU on November 18, 2010 for a limited time, 2 weeks only, to retire on December 2, 2010.
Kujo (Limited Edition) - the Kujo is Mara's 61st pet species and was released October 20, 2010 as part of the Sleepy Gold Account Upgrade.
Lati (Limited Edition) - the Lati is Mara's 39th pet species and was released on February 15, 2007 in the Love Gold Account Upgrade.
Limax (Limited Edition) - released on January 26, 2016 in a Nimbus Gold Account Upgrade. The Limax is Maras 75th species of pet.
Mordo (Limited Edition) - the Mordo is Mara's 36th pet species and was released on November 12, 2006 in the Devil Gold Account Upgrade.
Nino (Limited Edition) - the Nino is Mara's 50th pet species. It was released on October 25, 2008 in the Undying Fairy Account Upgrade along with the Goblin Account Upgrade.

Raulf (Restricted) - the 73rd pet species of Mara released on May 20, 2015 via a Dragon Gold Account Upgrade
Sindi (Limited Edition)- released November 1, 2005 in a Shadow/Gothic Account Upgrade the Sindi is Mara's 26th pet species.
Snookle (Limited Edition) - the Snookle is Mara's 43rd pet species. It was released on July 19, 2007 in both the Pixie and Skater Gold Account Upgrades.
Straya (Restricted) - the Straya is Mara's 77th pet species. It was released on February 25, 2018 in the Mermaid Account Upgrade. According to the news the Straya will only be released in Account Upgrades every two years.
Sybri (Restricted) - the Sybri is Mara's 65th pet species. It was released May 24, 2011 in the Genie Gold Account Upgrade.
Tasi (Limited Edition) - the Tasi is Mara's 52nd pet species. It was released on March 6, 2009 as part of the Vampire Account Upgrade and also the Leprechaun Account Upgrade.
Vixen (Restricted) - the Vixen is Mara's 63rd pet species released on December 5, 2010 in a unique account upgrade pack since it is a restricted pet (according to the news post).
Vlad (Restricted) - the Vlad is Mara's 70th pet species released on October 26, 2013 in the Bug Gold Account Upgrade.
Willa (Restricted) - the Willa is Mara's 66th pet species. It was released on March 8, 2012 in the Bee Gold Account Upgrade.
Wallop (Restricted) - the Wallop is Mara's 78th pet species released in April 2020 during King Baspinar's Palladium Jubilee. After this initial release the Wallop is available through account upgrades, the first of which was released on February 29, 2020 in a Royal Account Upgrade.
Daisy / Undying Festival (Limited Edition) - the Daisy is Mara's 44th pet species created specifically for the 1st Undying Festival of August 24, 2007. You can only get this limited edition Daisy upon completion of the Festival. Update: Mara news stated that the Undying Festival of 2012 was the last time to receive a Daisy pet from that event; however in the Undying Woods Festival of 2015 and 2016 the Daisy was again the main completion prize. The Undying Festival of 2016 was the last of this event and has been permanently discontinued.
Figaro / Olympics Redemption Shop (Restricted) - the Figaro is Mara's 59th pet species and was released on November 6, 2009. It can only be obtained by collecting enough Olympic Points to by a Potion from the Olympics Redemption Shop in Lush Lake.
Justin / Desert Spy Shop (Restricted) - the Justin is Mara's 67th pet species and was released on August 7, 2012. You can only obtain a Justin by collecting enough Spy Points to buy an Enchanted Willa Plushie from the Desert Spy Shop.

Zola / Capsule Machine (Restricted) - The Zola is Mara's 71st pet species and can only be obtained from the Capsule Machine on Nimbus. When using a Capsule Machine Token in the machine you have the chance of winning either an Enchanted Zola Plushie or Zola Potion. The Capsule Machine and Zola pet were released on March 29, 2014.
Ideus - Mara's 28th pet species released December 16, 2005
Gonk - Mara's 31st pet species released on April 15, 2006. It was originally an April Fool's joke but was so popular that it was released as a non-limited pet that anyone could create.
Xoi - Mara's 33rd pet species released on June 13, 2006.
Renat - Mara's 37th pet species released on November 26, 2006.
Kidlet - Mara's 38th pet species released on February 6, 2007.
Crindol - Mara's 40th pet species was released on April 2, 2007.
Speiro - Mara's 46th pet species was released on December 15, 2007.
Flab - Mara's 54th pet species was released on May 16, 2009.
Kaala - Mara's 69th pet species was released on July 7, 2013.
